Anesthesia Technologist Registry
The role of the anesthesia technologist is to expedite, facilitate, and support the clinical work done by the professional anesthesia personnel. Anesthesia technologists are trained to perform a wide range of skills. They are responsible for managing the anesthesia equipment and for its proper maintenance, including procurement, assembly, operation, troubleshooting, dismantling, and cleaning. Besides their everyday tasks, anesthesia techs at some hospitals also have specialized responsibilities that require additional skills. These include operation of the blood cell saver, and operation of the rapid-infusion system (RIS).
The responsibilities of anesthesia technologists have increased over the years, and the trend continues to favor the increased demand for their specialized skills; Anesthesia Techs are to the Anesthesiologists, the equivalent of what the Surgical Scrub Tech is to the Surgeon.
Anesthesia Techs at Antech are either graduates of an accredited school of Anesthesia Technology, while others are "Highly Experienced" in Acute Care Operating Room / Anesthesia Theaters and Surgery Centers .with a commanding knowledge of the duties they perform.
Our Techs are versatile, and will adapt to a variety of different Operating Room/Anesthesia Environments.
National certification is offered through the American Society of Anesthesia Technologist and Technicians (ASATT) and many of our Anesthesia Tech Professionals have obtained this although this is not a requirement for our highly qualified/clinical Techs who have worked at many Hospitals.
